Since founding her first gallery in 1980 on 57th Street, Barbara Gladstone has steadily built one of the most influential contemporary art programs in the world. A move to Chelsea in 1996 marked a turning point, and today Gladstone Gallery spans three New York locations, with additional spaces in Los Angeles, Brussels, and Seoul—each a reflection of the gallery’s global reach and enduring vision.
Her Chelsea gallery features a roster of internationally acclaimed artists—including Shirin Neshat, Sarah Lucas, and Matthew Barney—housed in a raw, spacious venue marked by bright white walls and cracked cement floors. With more than 25 years as a gallerist in New York, Barbara Gladstone continues to shape the trajectory of contemporary art.
